through 2012. >> adrian fenty said he will support gray and says he will focus on making a smooth transition between the administration's. fenty also says he will not run at the rigid run as an independent. he says he is not planning for running for any other elected office again. new details and the battle for maryland's top job. a bob ehrlich received the backing of an opponent from within his own party, receiving 25% of the vote yesterday, but he will now back the former government. ehrlich will move on to rematch against martin o'malley. a d.c. police officer is one of 12 people indicted on federal drug charges. fbi agents say the man and 11 others were charged in part of the investigation where they seized guns, cash, and

cocaine, heroin, and other drugs. 11 of the suspects are in custody tonight, one is still on the loose. hours after shots are fired at a local college campus -- >> a college student was shot near prince george's community college. john gonzalez has the search for the suspect while the victim fights for his life. >> the police say there were several fights at a nearby high school, largo high school. after school, there was a massive fight that finished with gunfire. but the police say they do not believe that shooting was directly connected with the problem at the high-school. either way, residents are fed up with all of the youth violence. shattered glass, a teenager seriously wounded, and frayed nerves. just about an hour after school let out, only minutes after patrolling police officers cleared the area, a massive

melee broke out involving about 100 teenagers. >> when they left, the commotion started. m a neighbor called him to say some of his teenagers were standing on his truck and shots rang out. >> we went out to see about my truck because the school kids were there, and i heard the gunshots and i saw three kids running across the street. >> the police said an 18- 419- year-old man was shot in the chest and transported in critical condition. -- the police said an 18- 419- year-old male was shot in the chest. >> officers say it is not the first time school kids have caused trouble in this area. >> i have kids playing here and they are almost safer in the house. >> detectives spent hours collecting shell casings and looking into the possibility that a shot out window came from a possible getaway car. >> this is apparently not

at that it comes down to taxes. the president wants to increase taxes for the wealthy, but he is going head-to-head with republicans. on january 1, the bush tax cuts are set to expire. the president wants to extend those cuts to everyone on the first $250,000 that they earn. for this district resident who was laid off last year -- >> february 25, 2009, my last day of work. >> she is studying to be a nurse. >> i think what bush did the tax cuts, he thought it would trickle-down, but it did not. take them away and get that money and spread it out to where it needs to be right now until the country is strong again. >> the president agrees, but the debate has stalled. >> once again, the leaders across the aisle are saying no. they want to hold these middle- class tax cuts hostage until

and asked for cash. nobody was hurt in the incident. the police may soon get him. he first walked into the store without his mask and a security camera got a good look at him. the discovery channel employees held hostage are speaking out for the first time, sitting down with oprah winfrey. they talked about their plans to run from the gun man, james lee. >> who made the decision to run? >> it was a mixture of signals. the guard was signalling with the police outside, and i took that as it is time to run. he was talking to the police through hand signals. i mouthed to the guard and said, not run? he shook his head, yes. -- i mouth to the guard and said, ron? he shook his head, yes.

that does not happen for over 200 more days, may 30. let me show you what is going on high above us. in washington, 70 degrees, the dew point in the 50's. not only in washington but many spots. gets into the 50's, it is really refreshing. fairfax, probably waking up with temperatures in the high 50's because of the weather front. no real moisture. the heavy stuff is in the tropics. here they are, lined up, the peak of tropical storm season. igor is reforming, the wind at around 135 m.p.h. the other moving into the yucatan is tropical storm karl. none of these pose any threat to the united states, but nonetheless, it has been a number of years since tropical storms and hurricanes have threatened to bermuda.

over the weekend, even though igor will be getting weaker, it could be a threat to bermuda by the time we get into saturday. meantime, there is karl, moving through the yucatan and probably mexico, bringing more rain where they don't need it in south texas. the temperatures into the 80's, still in the 70's, the dew point in the 40's and 50's. the humidity has pushed to the south. through tomorrow, sunshine. the leading edge of clouds coming in tomorrow morning. the weather front comes through late tomorrow with light showers likely, especially in the mountains. overall, it will be comfortable heading out going to work and school, the temperatures in the mid-80s, a little above average. any showers will be out of here by friday, early morning. then the weekend, the high
